Animal Control Officers

The Animal Control Officers (Constable and Second Constable) are elected to a one year term at the annual town meeting.  Responsibilities vary from town to town and in Weston the Constables duties involve dogs.  The Constables enforce Weston’s Dog Ordinances, and deal with unlicensed and stray dogs issues.

Dog Licenses

Due no later than April 1st.  Late fees apply thereafter for re-licensing.  Licenses and a current Rabies Vaccination Certificates are required for dogs that are 6 months or older. 

- Before or on April 1st the fee is either $9.00 for a spayed/neutered dog or $13.00 for an intact dog

- After April 1st the fee is either $11.00 for a spayed/neutered dog or $17.00 for an intact dog

- Spay/Neuter Certificate and current Rabies Certificate must be provided at the time of licensing

- Puppies, once 6 months of age or older, must then be licensed

- Additional licensing fees apply for the operation of a kennel or breeding operation. Please contact the Town Clerk for further information.
